Arsenal are set to unveil Kepa Arrizabalaga as their latest signing, with the Spanish goalkeeper reportedly finalising a £5 million switch from Chelsea, according to Sky Sports.
Kepa has already completed his medical in London, and an official announcement is expected within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The deal was made possible thanks to a release clause inserted into his Chelsea contract last summer.
Football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, stating, “Kepa has completed his medical at Arsenal on Wednesday and formal steps will now follow. £5m release clause already activated.”
By triggering the clause, Arsenal were able to secure the 29-year-old’s services at a fixed price, bolstering Mikel Arteta’s options between the sticks.
The former Spain international is expected to challenge David Raya for the number one spot, bringing top-level experience and depth to the goalkeeping department.
Kepa becomes the latest addition to Arsenal’s squad in this window, following the signing of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
