CHAN: 21 players arrive Ogun Super Eagles’ camp

At least 21 players have arrived at the Super Eagles’ training camp in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, as the team kicked off preparations for the 2025 African Nations Championship, now in its 8th edition.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Super Eagles B team, led by Head Coach Eric Chelle, had earlier seen a 35-man provisional squad unveiled ahead of the continental showpiece.

The team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed that camp officially opened on Monday at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, with 21 players taking part in the team’s opening training session.

“Our first training session commenced by 7 p.m. under floodlights,” Efoghe told NAN. “So far, 21 players participated, and the remaining 14 are expected to join them by Tuesday.”

Among the early arrivals were Nduka Junior (Remo Stars), Harrison Austin (Ikorodu City FC), Lawal Mustapha (Shooting Stars), Abdulrafiu Taiwo (Rivers United), and Temitope Vincent (Plateau United).

Others in attendance included Adedayo Olanipekun (Remo Stars), Shola (Ikorodu City), Nurudeen Badmos (Kwara United), Sadiq Ismail (Remo Stars), Taofeek Otaniyi (Rivers United), Kayode Bankole (Remo Stars), and Ani Henry (Rivers United).

Also present were Egbe Stephen (Rivers United), Atule Joseph (Enyimba FC), Tochukwu Michael (Remo Stars), Aniekeme Okon (Rivers United), and Ayomide Cole (Ikorodu City FC).

Rounding off the group were Sikiru Alimi (Remo Stars), Afeez Bankole (Kwara United), Leonard Ngenge (Ikorodu City FC), and Hadi Haruna (Remo Stars).

The group features defending champions Senegal, along with Sudan and Congo.

The Eagles will play Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, before concluding their group campaign against Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
