The Nigeria Basketball Federation has officially unveiled the squad for the country’s U19 women’s team set to compete at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Brno, Czech Republic.
A total of 12 players have been selected to fly Nigeria’s flag at the global tournament, which will run from Saturday, July 12 to Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Leading the team from the sidelines will be a technical crew made up of Faustina Akhere Juliana as head coach, supported by associate head coach Nyingifa Atonye and assistant coach Usuwa Chinedu Stone.
The roster features Jessica Ajayi, Pius Idubamo Beggi, Wandoo Marvis Hembam, Gbemisola Samuel, Toby Nweke, and Momoluwa Tewogbade.
Also included in the lineup are Nora Ezike, Francisca Chukwu, Olanrewaju Ayodeji, Abigail Isaac, Olaoluwa O. Victoria, and Favour Sampson.
Nigeria has been placed in Group B alongside Portugal, Canada, and China in what promises to be a highly competitive pool as 16 nations battle for supremacy in this year’s edition of the prestigious youth championship.
