Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro, is close to sealing a move to Inter Miami CF after reportedly reaching an agreement to leave Manchester United when his contract expires.
Football transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, reported that all parties have already agreed verbally, with only final documentation and an official announcement left to complete the switch.
The 34-year-old is set to join MLS side Inter Miami, where he will link up with Lionel Messi following the conclusion of his two-year stay at Old Trafford.
Romano wrote on X, “Inter Miami complete deal to sign Casemiro as new midfielder.
“Verbal agreement sealed with all parties involved and all formal steps resolved, now waiting to sign and announce the Brazilian. Casemiro wants to play with Messi. Future in MLS.”
During the closing stages of the season, Casemiro rediscovered strong form and played an important role in Manchester United’s push for a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
Despite that resurgence, both player and club are said to have mutually decided against extending his contract, opening the door for a new chapter in the United States.
Inter Miami had been widely viewed as frontrunners for his signature, even with interest reportedly coming from clubs in Italy and Saudi Arabia.
Ultimately, the chance to play alongside Messi is understood to have been a decisive factor in Casemiro’s decision to continue his career in Florida.
