Carabao Cup: Arokodare scores as Wolves beat Everton 2-0

Super Eagles forward, Tolu Arokodare, marked his first goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers as the club overcame their Premier League struggles with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Molineux in the Carabao Cup third round.

Marshall Munetsi opened the scoring in the first half, calmly slotting home a rebound after goalkeeper Mark Travers had parried Jhon Arias’ fierce left-footed volley.

Arokodare then wrapped up the win late in the game, delicately chipping the ball over the Everton keeper.

Everton started brightly, testing Sam Johnstone with a header from Michael Keane, but their attacking threat grew only after the introduction of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Beto at halftime.

Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye came on shortly before the hour mark, adding more firepower, yet Wolves’ defense held firm.

Wolves’ midfield, led by Andre in a standout performance, proved crucial in maintaining control.

Despite losing all five of their Premier League matches so far, Wolves now boast back-to-back wins over top-flight opposition in the Carabao Cup, a welcome boost for Vitor Pereira’s side.

The fourth-round draw is set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports on September 24, following the conclusion of the Port Vale vs Arsenal fixture.
