The Confederation of African Football has released the squad lists for the Super Eagles and the 23 other national teams participating in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
It is important to note that the squad lists for the Super Eagles and other teams could still change due to injuries and may not be final.
For the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen will continue to wear the number nine jersey, while Francis Uzoho keeps number one. Alex Iwobi is set to wear 17, Samuel Chukwueze takes number eleven, and first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali dons 23.
Ademola Lookman will sport jersey number seven, Moses Simon takes 15, newly appointed captain Wilfred Ndidi retains his number four shirt, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will wear number 10, and Frank Onyeka keeps number eight.
New call-ups Salim Fago, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Ryan Alebiosu, and Tochukwu Nnadi will wear numbers 25, 26, 27, and 28 respectively.
The Super Eagles have already begun preparations for AFCON 2025 following their arrival on Thursday, with players undergoing two training sessions on Friday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, Tanzania, the first Group C opponents for Eric Chelle’s side, arrived in Fes on Friday.
This will mark only the second time the two nations face each other at the Africa Cup of Nations. Their first and only meeting was in the opening match of the 1980 edition in Nigeria, where the late Christian Chukwu-led Super Eagles emerged 3-1 winners.
