CAF Awards: Super Falcons’ Nnadozie retains Africa Women’s Goalkeeper

Super Falcons and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been named the 2025 Africa Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, claiming the prestigious honor for a remarkable third consecutive time, following her wins in 2023 and 2024.

The award ceremony took place on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco, where Nnadozie outshone fierce competition, including Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nnadozie’s stellar performances for both club and country made her a clear favorite.

She was pivotal in helping the Super Falcons secure a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title earlier this year in Morocco.

At club level, the goalkeeper has impressed in the English Women’s Super League, making an immediate impact for Brighton & Hove Albion since her move from French side Paris FC over the summer.

In the men’s category, Morocco’s former Sevilla star Yassine Bounou claimed the Goalkeeper of the Year award.

On the other hand, Flamingos and Bayelsa Queens forward Shakirat Moshood narrowly missed out on the Women’s Young Player of the Year award, which went to Morocco’s Doha El Madani.
