British YouTuber and Twitch sensation, Angryginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was arrested over the weekend alongside fellow content creators Charlie Clark (aka Chazza) and Samuel Imie (known as SamHam), following an incident involving a classic Formula 1 car at the Silverstone Grand Prix venue.
The 23-year-old, who boasts 1.3 million Twitch followers and is known for his role in the Baller League, Soccer Aid, and Red Bull’s esports team, had been livestreaming from the event on Friday when police confronted the trio.
Earlier in the day, they had filmed themselves joking around as Chazza climbed into the cockpit of a historic F1 car on display, a moment that has now sparked controversy.
Northamptonshire Police confirmed that three men, aged 23, 25, and 27, were taken into custody on suspicion of criminal damage to a vehicle.
However, following investigations, they were released without further action.
Despite being cleared, Angryginge revealed in a vlog posted Monday that the experience was distressing.
“I’m genuinely traumatised,” he told followers, adding that the trio were held in a cell for 15 hours. He maintained that he had not caused any harm to the car, yet was banned from re-entering the Silverstone grounds for the remainder of the event.
Police believe the damage, allegedly caused when someone climbed onto the display stand and entered the vehicle, could cost several thousand pounds to fix.
In a separate development at the same event, authorities are also investigating the theft of a steering wheel from another display car. The wheel reportedly vanished around 14:30 BST on Friday.
Officers released a CCTV image on Sunday showing a man in a black baseball cap and orange-and-black T-shirt leaning over one of the cars — someone they wish to speak to in connection with the theft.
With an estimated 500,000 attendees over the four-day event, Northamptonshire Police reported 34 crimes in total.
Twenty arrests were made during the weekend for offences including assault, drug possession, theft, and criminal damage.
