Boxing: Jake Paul risking life against Joshua, Khan warns

Former British boxing champion, Amir Khan, has issued a stern warning to Jake Paul ahead of the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s December 19 showdown with Anthony Joshua in Miami.

Khan believes Paul is putting his life on the line by stepping into the ring with a two-time heavyweight world champion.

During an interview with iFL TV, Khan questioned the motivation behind the matchup, suggesting that those guiding Paul may be prioritizing financial gain over his safety.

“Look, first of all, I think [MVP co-founder] Nakisa hates Jake Paul because he wants him dead I think. He really wants to see his own friend, his childhood friend, hurt. That’s wrong, he’s chasing the money.

“He’s put my man in the firing line against a heavyweight champion who can hurt him and literally cause him problems in the future as well.

“AJ hitting him with that big right hand. Oof. If AJ hits him with a shot like he hit Ngannou and knocked him clean out. Even Ngannou would knock Jake Paul out.

“You can’t mess with the sport of boxing. Boxing is a sport you have to respect. You’re one punch away from getting hurt. Something bad is going to happen one day and they’re going to regret it.”

Khan’s comments reflect widespread concerns within the boxing community, with many questioning whether Paul is ready for the power and experience Joshua brings into the ring.
