Victor Boniface has returned to Werder Bremen after completing a rehabilitation period at Bayer Leverkusen.
The 25-year-old striker underwent surgery in January following an injury sustained during a training session, which had initially sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
However, Boniface might still feature before the season ends. “Victor will train individually for the entire week initially.
Afterwards, he will be carefully reintroduced to team training, so that we hope he can still play this season,” said Werder Bremen Head of Professional Football Peter Niemeyer.
Boniface joined Werder Bremen on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and has contributed two assists in 12 league appearances for the Greens.
