Bianca Ojukwu pledges to advance Nigeria’s global interests

Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has pledged to prioritise the country’s interests on the international stage, describing her appointment as both an honour and a call to serve.

In a statement shared on Thursday via her verified X account, Odumegwu-Ojukwu expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting her with the role.

“I am deeply honoured to be given this opportunity to serve Nigeria in this capacity. I sincerely thank Mr President for the confidence he has placed in me,” she said.

The minister noted that her new position comes with significant responsibility, adding that she is committed to delivering on the expectations attached to the office.

“This appointment is not only a privilege but also a call to greater service. I remain fully committed to оправдать the trust reposed in me,” she stated.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu also emphasised her intention to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy direction, aligning it with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its 4D foreign policy framework.

“I look forward to advancing our foreign policy priorities and enhancing citizen diplomacy in a way that reflects Nigeria’s values and aspirations,” she said.

Reassuring Nigerians of her dedication, she added, “I will continue to work diligently in advancing our national interests and ensuring that Nigeria maintains a strong and respected voice globally.”
