The capital city of Benue State, Makurdi witnessed a significant breakthrough in community security as youths from the Yaikyo area captured a notorious criminal known as Anini on Thursday night, June 26, 2025.
The arrest occurred during torrential rainfall at Agbatse Supermarket, located behind Jesical Filling Station in the Yaiko axis of the Benue State capital.
The operation was conducted by the Yaikyo community security team under the leadership of youth leader Mr. Frank Igbakua. Following his apprehension, the suspect was immediately transferred to Operation Zenda, a specialized police unit, for thorough investigation and prosecution.
Local residents have commended the youths’ decisive action, hailing it as a crucial development in the collective effort to eliminate criminal activities from Makurdi and surrounding areas.
“This arrest demonstrates our community’s resolve to take back our neighborhoods from criminal elements,” remarked one resident.
