Arsenal sign Eze from Crystal Palace for $60m

Arsenal have finalized the signing of England forward Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, securing the 27-year-old’s move for a reported £60m, including £8m in add-ons.

Eze becomes the Gunners’ seventh acquisition of the summer.

Eze had been a key target for Tottenham this transfer window, with the North London club reaching agreements with both Crystal Palace and the player.

However, Arsenal swooped in on Wednesday, and the boyhood fan opted to return to the club where he began his youth career.

Sporting director Andrea Berta praised Eze, calling him a “creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality”.

Manager Mikel Arteta added, “He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game. What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.

“His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club.”

Arsenal have been active in the transfer market this summer, securing six new signings, including striker Viktor Gyokeres and midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

After Kai Havertz suffered an injury, Arsenal are nearing the capture of their seventh summer signing, with Eberechi Eze set to join the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

In a dramatic twist, Arsenal swooped in to outmaneuver Tottenham and secure the England forward.

Even with Eze’s arrival all but sealed, Arsenal still have business to handle in the transfer window. The focus is expected to be on player departures, but successful exits could pave the way for additional signings.

Defender Jakub Kiwior is among those likely to move before the deadline, with AC Milan and Porto reportedly showing interest.

Kiwior has slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates following the arrival of Cristhian Mosquera and was omitted from the squad for last weekend’s clash against Manchester United.

Midfielder Fabio Vieira is another player likely to exit Arsenal. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Porto, and reports suggest that Arsenal are negotiating a potential loan move to German club Stuttgart, which could include a £17 million obligation to buy if specific conditions are fulfilled.

Albert Sambi Lokonga, another player loaned out last season, appears to have no future at the Emirates Stadium. The 25-year-old spent last season with Sevilla and is now looking for a new club.

Academy graduate Reiss Nelson spent last season on loan, though his time at Fulham was hampered by injury. Despite this setback, the Cottagers have been linked with a possible move to make his loan permanent this summer.

Fulham have also shown interest in full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko. With players like Myles Lewis-Skelly, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber ahead of him in the pecking order, Zinchenko is expected to seek a new club in the closing days of the window to secure regular playing time.

Although the focus is largely on departures, Arsenal could still make a signing before the window closes, with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo emerging as the most strongly linked target.
