Saudi giants Al-Hilal have reignited their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, tabling a new offer in a bid to outmuscle Galatasaray for his signature.
Despite Osimhen’s reported preference for a different move, Al-Hilal remain intent on securing the forward this summer.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray, who are equally eager to sign him permanently.
However, negotiations with Napoli have stalled over payment structures for the prolific attacker.
While the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract, applicable to clubs outside Italy, has now expired, Napoli are standing firm, still demanding the same fee. Crucially, they expect payment in no more than two instalments.
Galatasaray recently had a €70 million bid turned down by the Serie A side. They have since returned with an improved proposal: €40 million paid upfront, with the remaining €35 million to follow in staggered payments. Napoli have yet to respond to this latest offer.
In a dramatic twist, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Al-Hilal have submitted a revised bid overnight.
Their new proposal reportedly matches Napoli’s asking price of €75 million, structured in two equal instalments of €37.5 million, potentially giving them an edge in the ongoing transfer tug-of-war.
