Nigeria’s D’Tigers are set to clash with Senegal in the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket in Angola.

The quarter-final matchup was sealed after Senegal defeated South Sudan 78-65 in their knockout round qualifier on Monday.

D’Tigers will be aiming to maintain their strong tournament form when they face the West African giants on August 20.

Nigeria secured their spot in the last eight by topping Group B, recording wins over defending champions Tunisia, as well as Madagascar and Cameroon.

Senegal earned their quarter-final place by finishing second in Group D. Their campaign started with a victory against Uganda, followed by a setback against Egypt, but they rebounded strongly with an 84-70 triumph over Mali.

Historically, Senegal have lifted the AfroBasket trophy five times, in 1968, 1972, 1978, 1980, and 1997, making them one of the continent’s most successful basketball nations.
