Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem, has stated that Nigeria is unconcerned about the home advantage Morocco will have in Wednesday’s Africa Cup of Nations 2025 semi-final.
The Atlas Lions, who will host the second semi-final at Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Stadium, have enjoyed immense fan support throughout the tournament, winning four of their five matches.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will play in their third stadium of the competition, having previously faced opponents in Fes and Marrakech.
Speaking at the team’s final training session on Tuesday, Awaziem emphasized that Nigeria will remain focused despite the crowd.
“We saw the Moroccan team supporting us against the Algerians, and I know that some will still be supporting us,” he said.
“We don’t care about the support, we don’t care about the crowd we just want to focus on ourselves, not get distracted and try to get the job done.”
Nigeria last faced an AFCON host in the 2023 final against Côte d’Ivoire, a match they lost 2-1, although the Super Eagles had defeated the Ivorians 1-0 during the group stage.
