The draw for the qualifiers of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will take place on Tuesday, 19 May.
A total of 48 teams, including co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, will compete in the qualification series.
The qualifiers are scheduled to run across three FIFA international windows set for September, October, and November.
Teams will be divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two sides from each group earning automatic qualification for the final tournament.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who finished third at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, will be among the teams awaiting their group opponents.
Meanwhile, the 2027 AFCON finals will kick off on Saturday, 19 June, and conclude with the final on Saturday, 17 July 2027. CAF has confirmed that the tournament will run within that one-month window.
