Morocco began their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Gabon on Friday.
The Atlas Lions dominated possession for long periods and created several opportunities before Noussair Mazraoui broke the deadlock in the 36th minute.
Azzedine Ounahi had earlier come close to opening the scoring when his effort struck the crossbar in the 27th minute.
Morocco continued to press after taking the lead, with Abdessamad Ezzalzouli setting up El Aynaoui before the midfielder missed the chance to extend their advantage before half-time.
Gabon improved after the break and threatened to draw level, with Denis Bouanga forcing Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou into saves in the 57th and 77th minutes.
Morocco eventually put the result beyond doubt in the 84th minute when Soufiane Rahimi converted Bilal El Khannouss’ cross to seal all three points.
The victory gives Morocco a strong start to their qualifying campaign, with their next match against Lesotho on September 29.
