AFCON qualifier: Chadian referee to officiate Super Eagles, Madagascar clash

A Chadian referee, Alhadji Allaou Mahamat, has been appointed to officiate Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Madagascar.

The Group D encounter is scheduled for Friday, September 25, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Mahamat will lead the officiating crew for the encounter, with the Super Eagles set to host the Barea of Madagascar in their latest AFCON qualifying fixture.

Nigeria will be seeking a positive result on home soil as the team continues its campaign for a place at the 2027 continental tournament.

Madagascar, meanwhile, will be hoping to frustrate the hosts and leave Uyo with a result as both sides battle for points in Group D.

The appointment of Mahamat comes as preparations intensify for Friday’s encounter in Uyo.
