Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has revealed that she recently welcomed a baby boy, sharing the joyful news in an emotional message posted on her birthday.
The actress took to social media on Wednesday to reflect on her journey into motherhood, describing the experience as life-changing and deeply fulfilling.
Unlike previous birthdays, which she said were often marked with elaborate photoshoots and carefully curated themes, Ini chose to commemorate this year’s celebration by posting a photograph taken on the day her son was born.
According to her, the decision was inspired by the significance of becoming a mother for the first time.
“Every year, my birthday comes with a photoshoot, glam, and a carefully planned concept. This year, none of that felt quite right,” she wrote.
“Instead, I’m sharing a photo from the day my son was born, the day my life changed forever. Because as special as every birthday has been, this one feels different. This year, I celebrate as a mother.”
The actress described motherhood as the most demanding yet rewarding role she has ever undertaken, noting that the past few weeks have brought a mix of joy, challenges, and personal growth.
“There is no role I have ever played that has humbled me, stretched me, challenged me, or filled my heart quite like this one,” she said.
“These past weeks have been some of the most beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and rewarding of my life.”
Speaking about caring for her newborn, Ini described her son as “the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples,” adding that motherhood has revealed strengths she never knew she possessed.
She also expressed admiration for mothers everywhere, admitting that she had underestimated the realities of caring for a newborn.
“The newborn phase is no joke, and I definitely didn’t fully understand what was waiting for me. But even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything,” she stated.
Expressing gratitude for her new role, the actress said she feels privileged to be entrusted with raising her son.
“Today, I celebrate another year of life, but even more than that, I celebrate the privilege of being his mum. Happy birthday to me,” she added.
