Nollywood star Adunni Ade has debunked a viral social media quote falsely attributing marital regrets to her, warning perpetrators to retract the post or face legal consequences.
The widely circulated statement claimed the actress lamented that her beauty and fame were preventing her from finding a husband. Ade vehemently denied ever making such remarks in a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“I kindly request that you take down this post within 24 hours to prevent further action involving my legal team. I do not appreciate the fact that you’re using my name to peddle false news and articles with no verifiable source just to generate engagement,” the actress stated.
She clarified that the fabricated quote didn’t originate from any genuine interview or media outlet. On Instagram, Ade issued a stern Pidgin English warning: “Trouble sleeping, yanga go wake am. Wetin you dey find? Na Palava you dey find, na palava you go see!”
The “Tokunbo” actress revealed her last official media engagement was during the movie’s promotion in September 2024. She urged bloggers and content creators to stop exploiting her name for clout.
Known for her cross-genre acting in Nollywood and Yoruba films, Ade has consistently campaigned against misinformation and cyberbullying. She’s now demanding respect for her reputation from both the public and digital platforms.
