The pupils and teachers kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been released by their captors.
The announcement was made on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Posting on his verified X account, Onanuga confirmed that the victims had regained their freedom after being held by the abductors.
“Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been freed by their abductors,” he wrote.
As of the time this report was filed, authorities had not provided further details on the circumstances surrounding the release, including whether a ransom was paid or how the victims secured their freedom.
