Five teenagers have been seriously injured in a stabbing incident at a Halloween party in the United Kingdom, police have said.
The incident occurred at a property on Park Road in Chandler’s Ford, near Eastleigh, shortly after 22:30 GMT on Saturday.
The victims, comprising three boys aged 16 and two aged 17, were rushed to hospital for treatment following the attack.
Hampshire Police said preliminary investigations indicated that an unidentified group had forced their way into a party at the address before the stabbings took place.
A police cordon was still in place at the scene on Sunday as officers continued investigations into the incident.
The police also appealed to members of the public who witnessed the attack or have relevant information to assist with the probe.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie, acknowledged the incident’s effect on residents in the area and expressed appreciation for their patience as investigations continued.
An eyewitness earlier told the BBC that ambulances and an air ambulance were deployed to the scene.
Another witness recounted seeing an individual fleeing the property while shouting that he had been stabbed and was being pursued by two people.
Reacting to the incident, Eastleigh MP Liz Jarvis expressed concern for the victims and their families in a post on X on Sunday.
She said, “My thoughts are with the victims and their families and all those affected by the incident in Chandler’s Ford last night, and my thanks go to our local police and emergency services for their prompt response.
“It’s important not to speculate or share unverified information.”
