Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Fabian Hurzeler, has called for patience as Nigeria international Femi Azeez continues his recovery from a hamstring injury ahead of his competitive debut for the Premier League club.
Azeez joined Brighton from Championship side Millwall on transfer deadline day but has yet to feature in a competitive match for the Seagulls.
The 25-year-old winger arrived at the club carrying a minor hamstring injury sustained on the opening day of the season while playing for Millwall.
Although the Nigerian has made progress in his recovery, he is not yet ready to return to competitive action.
Azeez featured for Brighton in a friendly during the recent international break, offering encouragement about his fitness as he works towards a full return.
Speaking ahead of Brighton’s UEFA Conference League encounter against Jablonec on Thursday, Hurzeler said the club would not rush the winger back into action.
“With Femi, again we have to be patient with him. It’s not quite clear how long it will take. It seems to be not a big issue, but therefore we have to be patient,” the manager told a press conference.
