Brighton boss gives update on Femi Azeez injury

Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Fabian Hurzeler, is hopeful that Nigeria international, Femi Azeez will recover from injury in time to feature against Coventry City on Sunday.

Azeez joined Brighton from Championship side Millwall on transfer deadline day, with the Premier League club reportedly paying €15m for the 25-year-old winger.

The former Reading player has yet to make his debut for the Seagulls after picking up an injury shortly after completing his move to the club.

Hurzeler, however, remains optimistic that Azeez could be available when Brighton travel to face Frank Lampard’s Coventry side.

“Femi is obviously carrying a slight injury at the moment. We have to wait this weekend, and hopefully he will be available for the next game [Coventry],” Hurzeler was quoted by Sussex Express as saying.

Azeez will now be hoping to overcome the setback and make his first appearance for Brighton following his £15m move.

His potential return would provide Hurzeler with another attacking option as Brighton prepare for their Premier League fixture against Coventry.
