Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has returned to training with Galatasaray after completing his rehabilitation from injury, boosting the Turkish champions ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
Osimhen rejoined the squad as Galatasaray prepare for their Matchday 7 clash with Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Nigerian forward had been sidelined for several weeks after suffering an injury during Galatasaray’s victory over Başakşehir in their fourth league game of the season.
Before the setback, Osimhen had enjoyed a blistering start to the campaign, scoring six goals and providing two assists in his first four Süper Lig appearances.
His eight goal involvements in those matches underlined his importance to Okan Buruk’s side, with the striker establishing himself as Galatasaray’s main attacking threat.
His return to team training does not necessarily mean he will immediately return to the starting line-up, with the coaching staff expected to assess his fitness before deciding whether to use him against Kasımpaşa.
Osimhen’s comeback also comes at an important time for Galatasaray, who face a demanding run of fixtures in the Süper Lig and UEFA Champions League, including a meeting with Barcelona.
The club will hope the Nigerian can quickly regain his rhythm and reproduce the form that saw him score six times in four league matches before his injury.
