Italy recorded their first win under returning manager Roberto Mancini with a convincing 4-1 victory over Turkey in their UEFA Nations League clash on Monday.
Alessandro Bastoni opened the scoring for Italy in the ninth minute before Davide Frattesi doubled their advantage 13 minutes later.
Brentford defender, Michael Kayode then marked his senior international debut with a goal in the 27th minute, sending Italy into the break with a 3-0 lead.
Turkey pulled one back two minutes after half-time when Baris Alper Yilmaz scored his sixth international goal to give the hosts renewed hope.
Italy, however, quickly restored their three-goal advantage in the 50th minute.
Pio Esposito headed home the rebound after Sandro Tonali’s effort struck the post.
Turkey continued to push for another goal but could not find a way through as Italy comfortably saw out the remainder of the match.
The victory was Mancini’s first since returning for a second spell as Italy manager.
The 61-year-old had started his comeback with a 1-0 home defeat to Belgium on Friday.
Italy will next travel to face Group 1 leaders France on Friday, while Turkey remain without a point after two matches.
