The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it recovered N1.233tn and secured 10,872 convictions between October 2023 and July 2026.
The commission disclosed this in a video shared on its official X account on Thursday, highlighting its activities during the 34 months under its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
According to the EFCC, it received 49,673 petitions within the period, out of which 39,615 cases were investigated.
The anti-graft agency said 14,476 cases were subsequently filed in court, resulting in 10,872 convictions.
The commission described petitions as the “entry point for EFCC action,” noting that the figures reflected its efforts to tackle different forms of financial crimes.
It said, “₦1.233 trillion in recoveries in just 34 months. This is the legacy of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede.”
Explaining the nature of the cases handled, the commission said its activities covered offences including advance fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud and economic governance-related fraud.
“But what do these numbers represent?” the EFCC asked.
It added, “They represent the fight against financial crimes.”
The commission also said the recovery figures represented the outcome of investigations into financial activities and the tracing of funds linked to alleged financial crimes.
“Behind every number is a case investigated, a financial trail uncovered, and public resources recovered to keep pushing the fight against economic and financial crimes forward,” it stated.
The EFCC said it would continue its efforts against financial and economic crimes.
