Teenage forward, Floyd Samba marked his Manchester City first-team debut in style, scoring twice as the defending champions cruised to a 5-0 victory over Norwich City in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday.

The 17-year-old opened the scoring in the 29th minute when he headed home a cross from Brazilian forward Allan, who was also making his City debut.

Rayan Cherki doubled City’s advantage three minutes later after he was played through by Ayyoub Bouaddi before calmly beating Norwich goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw in a one-on-one situation.

City continued their dominance after the break, with Allan making it 3-0 shortly after half-time with a low left-footed finish.

Samba then completed his brace with a curling effort to put Manchester City four goals ahead and cap an impressive debut performance.

Another City teenager, 18-year-old Ryan McAidoo, came off the bench and completed the scoring in the final minute as Enzo Maresca’s side secured a place in the fourth round.

Manchester City will face Brighton in the next round after Brighton eliminated Manchester United 3-2 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
