Carabao Cup: Fulham edge West Ham 3-2 to enter fourth round

Fulham advanced to the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating West Ham United 3-2 in an entertaining third-round encounter at the London Stadium on Tuesday.

Rodrigo Muniz gave Fulham the lead in the 13th minute when he headed home from close range following a move down the left.

West Ham responded three minutes later, with Morato rising to meet a corner and power his header into the net.

Fulham restored their advantage in the 37th minute through César Palacios, who finished after Joachim Andersen supplied the pass.

However, the hosts drew level again just before half-time as Pablo Felipe converted with his left foot to make it 2-2.

The visitors continued to control possession after the break and created opportunities as they looked to regain the lead.

West Ham also threatened on the counter, with their wide players providing problems for the Fulham defence.

Fulham eventually found the decisive goal in the 78th minute when substitute Oscar Bobb struck to put the visitors 3-2 ahead.

West Ham pushed for another equaliser but could not find a way through.

The hosts had chances to level, but Fulham’s defence held firm to secure their passage into the next round.

Palacios was particularly influential for the visitors, having scored one goal and provided an assist in a standout midfield display.

Fulham’s victory means West Ham’s EFL Cup campaign ends in the third round, while the visitors continue their pursuit of the trophy.
