Serie A: Como beat Parma 2-1, extend winning run

Como secured a 2-1 victory over Parma in Serie A on Monday, maintaining their impressive run after their historic Champions League debut last week.

Jacobo Ramón put Como ahead in the 23rd minute after Parma failed to deal with a corner.

Nico Paz delivered the ball across goal, allowing Ramón to finish from close range at the far post.

Parma had an opportunity to level before the break, but Simone Lontani’s diving header went narrowly over the crossbar as Como took their advantage into half-time.

The visitors continued to threaten after the restart, with David Romero going close in the 66th minute after meeting a cross from Emanuele Valeri.

Sascha Britschgi also saw his follow-up effort saved by Como goalkeeper Robert Sánchez.

Como eventually doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute when Bruno Kaiki finished from close range after Jesus Rodriguez had seen two attempts blocked during a scramble inside the Parma box.

Parma reduced the deficit in stoppage time when Pontus Almqvist found David Romero, who swept the ball into the far bottom corner from 10 yards.

The victory capped another positive week for Como, who had earlier defeated Napoli away before beating RB Leipzig 4-1 in their Champions League debut.
