Nigeria book back-to-back U-19 Women’s Cricket World Cup spots

Nigeria’s Junior Female Yellow Greens have secured qualification for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup for the second successive edition after defeating Zimbabwe by four runs in Tanzania on Saturday.

The Nigerian side won the toss and chose to bat, finishing their 20-over innings on 98 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Zimbabwe struggled in their chase and were eventually bowled out for 94 with just one delivery left in their innings, handing Nigeria a hard-fought victory.

The result means Nigeria and South Africa will represent Africa at the 2027 ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Nepal and Bangladesh.
