Cyriel Dessers continued his impressive start to the season by scoring in Panathinaikos’ 2-1 away win over Levadiakos in the Greek Super League on Monday night.
Panathinaikos needed just three minutes to break the deadlock, with Levadiakos defender Giannis Kosti turning the ball into his own net.
The home side’s hopes of recovering suffered another setback shortly after the hour mark when Panagiotis Simelidis was shown a straight red card, leaving Levadiakos with 10 players.
Dessers began the match on the bench before coming on in the 68th minute for Andrews Tetteh.
The Nigerian striker wasted little time making his presence felt, finding the net just minutes after his introduction to put Panathinaikos 2-0 ahead.
Levadiakos managed to pull a goal back, but Panathinaikos held on to secure all three points on the road.
The goal further underlined Dessers’ excellent form since the start of the campaign.
He has now scored four goals in four appearances across all competitions for Panathinaikos this season.
