Premier League club, Brighton & Hove Albion are intensifying their efforts to sign Nigeria international Femi Azeez from Championship side Millwall before the summer transfer window closes.
Azeez has attracted significant interest following an impressive 2025/26 campaign in which he established himself as one of Millwall’s standout performers.
The 25-year-old winger finished the season with 11 goals and seven assists, earning recognition with a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.
His club form also led to his first call-up to the Super Eagles, and he made an immediate impression on the international stage.
Azeez scored twice as Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the Unity Cup before playing an important role in the Super Eagles’ victory over Jamaica in the final.
However, his start to the new Championship season was disrupted by injury after he was forced off during Millwall’s 2-0 victory over Bristol City on the opening day.
Brighton step up pursuit
According to The Athletic, Brighton are now weighing up an improved attempt to bring the Nigerian to the Premier League as they seek to strengthen their squad before the transfer deadline.
The Seagulls have already tested Millwall’s resolve, submitting a proposal involving two bids, but the Championship club rejected their initial offer.
Brighton have since returned with an improved package reportedly worth more than £10 million as they attempt to complete the transfer.
They face competition, with Hull City also having previously expressed interest in the Nigerian winger.
However, Brighton now appear to be leading the chase and are waiting to discover whether their latest offer will persuade Millwall to sell one of their most important players.
With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Azeez’s future is expected to become clearer in the final hours of the window.
If Brighton complete the deal, Azeez would become the second Nigerian to join the club this summer, following the arrival of 18-year-old Zadok Yohanna.
