Flamingos begin final World Cup camp with 25 players

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have commenced the final stage of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Head coach Hakeem Busari has invited 25 players to the team’s final training camp in Abuja ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to run from October 17 to November 7, 2026.

The invited players are expected to arrive at the Serob Legacy Hotel in Wuye, Abuja, on Sunday, August 30, as the coaching staff steps up preparations for the global tournament.

The Flamingos booked their place at the World Cup after overcoming Benin Republic home and away in the final round of the African qualifiers.

The country missed only the 2018 edition in Uruguay.
