Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, has ended his spell with English League One club Barnsley by mutual consent.
The 28-year-old has now agreed to join Cypriot side Omonoia 29M after falling out of favour at Barnsley.
Nwakali was no longer part of manager Daniel Stendel’s first-team plans, with the club having looked to move him on since the summer of 2025.
The midfielder also struggled for regular playing time under former manager Conor Hourihane.
Nwakali joined Barnsley in 2024 and made 30 appearances for the club, including 12 league starts during the 2024/2025 season.
With his contract originally scheduled to run until next summer, the former Arsenal player has now brought his time in England to an end and will continue his career in Cyprus.
