Millwall forward, Femi Azeez, has been rewarded for his outstanding 2025/26 campaign after earning a place in the Professional Footballers’ Association Championship Team of the Year.
The Nigerian was recognised at the PFA Awards on Tuesday following a productive season in England’s second tier, where he scored 11 goals and registered seven assists.
Azeez was selected alongside Coventry City goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, while the newly promoted Premier League club had several other players included in the XI.
Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas, Matt Grimes, Jack Rudoni and Haji Wright were also named.
Millwall defender Tristan Crama, Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney and Swansea City forward Zan Vipotnik completed the team.
Azeez’s performances at club level also earned him a call-up to the Nigeria national team under head coach Eric Chelle.
The 25-year-old made an immediate impact during Nigeria’s Unity Cup triumph in May, scoring twice against Zimbabwe and providing an assist in the encounter with Jamaica.
His impressive displays for both Millwall and the Super Eagles have further enhanced his standing as one of the Championship’s notable attacking talents.
