An Osun resident, David Adesina, has alleged that the results recorded at a polling unit during Saturday’s governorship election were initially entered incorrectly, raising concerns over the accuracy of the process.
Adesina, speaking in a video shared on X by News Central TV, claimed that after the ballots were counted, the Accord Party secured 212 votes, while the All Progressives Congress polled 107 votes.
According to him, a National Youth Service Corps member involved in the process subsequently entered the Accord Party’s score as 012 instead of 212.
Adesina said those at the polling unit immediately drew attention to the discrepancy.
“We said not 012 was supposed to be 212,” he stated.
He explained that the figure was subsequently corrected to 212 and signed by those present at the polling unit.
“Later I now change it to 212 and you now sign on it,” Adesina said.
He appealed to members of the public to take note of the incident, expressing concern that the result could be altered later in the collation process.
“Please let all the world hear this so that later later they will not change it for us. Thank you and God bless you,” Adesina said.
Voting and counting took place at polling units across Osun State on Saturday as voters participated in the governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission is overseeing the election, with results announced at polling units before being transmitted and collated at subsequent stages.
