The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for the smooth deployment of election materials and personnel during Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.
The Punch reported that Basiru, who cast his ballot at Ward 7, Unit 3, in Osogbo Local Government Area, said the timely arrival of electoral materials and officials at polling units across the state was commendable.
He also praised voters for turning up early at their respective polling centres, describing the turnout as a sign of the electorate’s commitment to democratic participation.
“I commend INEC for the timely deployment of election materials and personnel to polling centres across the state.
“I also commend voters for turning out in large numbers to participate in the electoral process. The turnout is an indication of the people’s commitment to democracy,” he said.
