PSG beat Aston Villa to retain UEFA Super Cup

Paris Saint-Germain have successfully defended their UEFA Super Cup title after defeating Aston Villa 2-1 in Austria.

The French champions took the lead in the 20th minute when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia found the back of the net to put PSG ahead.

Villa responded just before the break, with 17-year-old Brian Madjo scoring in stoppage time to restore parity and become the youngest player to score in the history of the UEFA Super Cup.

PSG regained the advantage in the 61st minute through Desire Doue, whose goal ultimately secured another European trophy for the club.
The triumph marks PSG’s second consecutive UEFA Super Cup crown.

They claimed their maiden title in 2025 after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in normal time.

PSG, who are the reigning Champions League winners, entered the contest seeking to maintain their dominance in European competition, while Aston Villa featured as the reigning Europa League champions.

The victory further underlines PSG’s recent success on the continental stage as they continue to build on back-to-back Champions League triumphs.
