A 35-year-old serial sex offender, Victor Komolafe, has been jailed in the United Kingdom for eight years and 11 months after being convicted of multiple sexual offences against two women.
Komolafe was sentenced on Wednesday at Woolwich Crown Court following his earlier conviction this year on four counts of sexual abuse.
The case was built through the Metropolitan Police’s V100 programme, an intelligence-led initiative designed to identify the 100 offenders assessed as posing the highest risk to women and girls in London.
The programme applies analytical methods inspired by counter-terrorism policing to track and remove dangerous suspects from circulation.
Komolafe was found guilty of one count of attempted rape, one count of sexual assault, and two counts of assault by penetration.
The offences involved two separate women who were not acquainted with each other.
He was initially arrested in August 2023 after allegations of sexual assault were reported to police.
During questioning, he denied the accusations, claiming the encounter was consensual and initiated by the complainant.
A second allegation emerged in September 2023, when another woman came forward describing similar abuse involving Komolafe.
Investigators said he used multiple aliases, including “Ghost” and “Xavier,” to conceal his identity from victims, while also withholding personal details such as his real name and address.
Despite these attempts to avoid detection, forensic evidence linked him to the crimes. Police confirmed that Komolafe’s semen was recovered from clothing belonging to the second complainant, directly contradicting his account.
Further findings during the investigation indicated that he employed controlling behaviour against his victims, including restricting access to food and water to weaken and dominate them.
The second victim also stated that some of the offences occurred inside a vehicle belonging to his partner.
One of the victims appealed to others who may have been harmed by him to come forward and speak to authorities.
“He won’t be able to hurt you now. Try and find strength to do that. It’s not right to let people like him to get away with crimes like this,” they said.
In another statement, she encouraged survivors of sexual offences to report incidents, “even if you’re not sure.”
Komolafe has been placed on the sex offenders register for life and is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The V100 programme, which continues to target high-risk offenders across London, has secured 208 convictions since its launch in 2023, according to authorities, as of the end of April.
Detective Constable Jo Cheung and Helen Cordes, who led the investigation, commended the bravery of the victims in bringing the case forward.
They said in a statement, “Komolafe would hide behind a guise of familiarity and friendship with his victims; this enabled him to exploit his formed connections and target these women for his abusive crimes.
“The bravery of both victims coming forward emphasises their strength of character, and their willingness to speak out against abusers such as Komolafe.
“Their courage and determination enabled our investigation to achieve the justice they desperately deserved”.
