Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, is set to make his acting debut by voicing an animated Viking version of himself in the upcoming movie ViQueens, directed by Harald Zwart.
The animated adventure-comedy, scheduled for release on December 25, 2026, will see Haaland portray a “legendary Viking” in a storyline inspired by Norwegian fjords and Silk Road mythology.
The film marks a new chapter for the Norway international as he transitions briefly from football to the entertainment industry, drawing on the global popularity of his “Viking” image.
ViQueens is directed and co-written by Zwart, the award-winning Norwegian filmmaker behind The Karate Kid and Agent Cody Banks.
“As a Norwegian storyteller making a Viking adventure for a global audience, having Erling Haaland join feels incredibly exciting,” said Zwart.
“Erling has already become a kind of real-life Viking icon around the world, powerful, fearless and uniquely Norwegian.
“Bringing him into this universe as himself gives the film an unexpected energy and authenticity that felt completely right for this story.”
