Nigeria international, Paul Onuachu, ended the 2025/26 Turkish Super Lig season as joint top scorer after finishing level on 22 goals with Istanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov.
Shomurodov drew level with the towering Trabzonspor striker on the final day of the campaign after scoring against Gaziantep FK, ensuring the pair shared the Golden Boot award.
Onuachu’s achievement also saw him become only the sixth Trabzonspor player to finish as the Turkish top-flight’s leading scorer, underlining his importance to the former champions throughout the season.
Fenerbahçe attacker Anderson Talisca finished third in the scoring chart with 19 goals after an impressive debut campaign in Turkey.
Another Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen, also enjoyed a productive season in the Super Lig.
The prolific striker scored 15 league goals in 22 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign after winning the Golden Boot last season with 26 goals in 30 matches.
Osimhen’s exploits in recent years have further highlighted the growing influence of Nigerian forwards in Turkish football, with Onuachu now adding his name to the list of Super Lig top scorers.
