Arsenal’s Raya wins third straight EPL Golden Glove

Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya, has secured the Premier League Golden Glove for a third straight season, with his tally of 18 clean sheets now mathematically out of reach, ESPN reports.

Raya was central to Arsenal’s tense victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium, producing key saves throughout the match.

In the closing moments, VAR intervened to rule that he had been fouled by Pablo, leading to a disallowed West Ham equaliser.

His closest challenger, Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, sits on 14 clean sheets and cannot close the gap, with City left with only three league fixtures remaining.

One of Raya’s standout contributions came when he denied Matheus Fernandes in a crucial late stop, just before Arsenal broke forward to score through Leandro Trossard, a moment that could prove decisive in their title pursuit.

“When you talk about magic moments, this is certainly one of the most needed moments as well to pull off with that save. He [Raya] was incredible,” Arteta said postmatch on Sunday.

Raya now joins Pepe Reina, Joe Hart and Éderson as the only goalkeepers to win the award in three consecutive seasons, having claimed it in every campaign since his 2023 move to London from Brentford.
