2027: God has already decided Nigeria’s next president, says Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has stated that Nigeria’s next president ahead of the 2027 general elections has already been determined by God.

Speaking during a workers’ meeting at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye said the outcome of the election ultimately rests on divine will rather than human effort.

According to him, “The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe. It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will be done.”

The cleric advised Nigerians not to be overly anxious about political developments, urging them to remain calm and prayerful as the 2027 elections draw closer.

“I never said we should not be involved in politics, but we must understand that God has the final say in the affairs of men,” he added.

Adeboye also encouraged citizens to balance civic responsibility with faith, noting that both participation and prayer are important.

“We should do our part, but we should also keep praying and trust God. That is what is satisfying to me,” he said.

On leadership within the Christian community, the RCCG leader clarified that he does not see himself as a father figure to all Christians in Nigeria. He explained that such a role rests with the Christian Association of Nigeria.

“I don’t want to be the father of all Christians in Nigeria. I’m satisfied with being the father of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. That’s enough assignment for me,” Adeboye stated.

He further dismissed claims suggesting that the RCCG is aligned with the ruling party, insisting that the church remains independent and continues to speak on national issues, including economic challenges.

Adeboye added that while politicians are free to attend church services, they would not be allowed to use the altar for political campaigns.
