President Bola Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting, which was initially slated for 4 p.m. at the Council Chamber, eventually commenced around 5 p.m. after it was relocated to the Conference Room within the President’s Office.
Among the governors in attendance are Babagana Zulum (Borno), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Peter Mbah (Enugu), and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara). Some states are represented by their deputy governors.
As of the time of filing this report, the agenda of the meeting had not been disclosed.
The gathering follows closely after an emergency meeting between the President and members of the Senate leadership held on Wednesday night.
Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele had indicated that key decisions were reached during that session, addressing pressing national concerns.
