Super Lig: Fenerbahçe edge Beşiktaş 1-0

None

Fenerbahçe edged past Beşiktaş 1-0 in a thrilling encounter, taking full advantage of rivals Galatasaray’s defeat earlier in the weekend. The match, packed with intensity and high-stakes moments, kept fans on the edge of their seats from the first whistle to the last.

The opening seconds set the tone, as Dorgeles Nene danced past defenders with a clever feint, only to see his shot miss the target.

Beşiktaş responded with an equally promising opportunity: Hyeon-gyu Oh nearly connected with a pinpoint Orkun Kökçü cross, and Václav Černý couldn’t convert the rebound.

The first half continued in similar fashion, with both sides generating dangerous moments. Talisca tested the Fenerbahçe wall with a free-kick, while Kökçü unleashed a long-range strike that forced Ederson into a spectacular tip-over.

Mattéo Guendouzi also threatened down the left flank, but his final delivery failed to find a teammate, letting Beşiktaş breathe a sigh of relief. The teams went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.

Shortly after the restart, Guendouzi nearly broke the deadlock with a long-range strike.

A subsequent corner seemed to hand Fenerbahçe the lead when Gökhan Sazdağı inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, but the goal was chalked off for offside.

Despite the prolonged scoreless period, the match remained captivating, fueled by the fierce rivalry between the sides.

Fenerbahçe squandered a glaring defensive lapse from Beşiktaş when Sidiki Chérif failed to capitalize.

Kerem Aktürkoğlu came close to breaking the stalemate, finding himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Ersin Destanoğlu, who produced a brilliant save to keep the game level.

Moments later, Destanoğlu was again forced into action as Aktürkoğlu cleverly squared the ball to Chérif, whose strike was superbly denied.

The decisive moment arrived in stoppage time. Nene was brought down on the edge of the penalty area by Emmanuel Agbadou, prompting the referee to award a penalty. Aktürkoğlu stepped up and calmly converted, securing a dramatic 1-0 victory for Fenerbahçe.
