Serie A: Che Adams fires Torino to 1-0 win over Pisa

Pisa edged closer to relegation after squandering numerous scoring chances and conceding a late goal from Che Adams, allowing Torino to snatch a narrow victory.

Both sides were struggling to finish their underwhelming seasons. Pisa, tied at the bottom with Verona, entered the international break on the back of a heavy 5-0 defeat to Como.

The hosts were missing Rafiu Durosinmi due to suspension, while Daniel Denoon, Marius Marin, and Isak Vural remained sidelined by injury.

However, Simone Scuffet and Michel Aebischer returned to the lineup.

Torino, meanwhile, were without Duvan Zapata, who suffered a serious thigh injury in their 3-2 loss to Milan, with Zakaria Aboukhlal and Zanos Savva also unavailable.

The game saw Pisa come close early, with Gvidas Gineitis forcing a shot just wide through a defender’s legs, and Aebischer curling a stunning volley off the outside of his left foot inches past the top corner.

Another attempt from Gineitis was blocked, while goalkeeper Alberto Paleari was alert to deny Matteo Tramoni a clear chance from an Aebischer through ball.

Pisa’s best opportunity came around the hour mark. Tramoni intercepted a pass from Saul Coco and raced forward, but instead of shooting, he tried a delicate pass across the box for Filip Stojilkovic, only to overhit it.

Stojilkovic then attempted to set up Tramoni from the byline, but the delivery drifted too far.

Cesare Casadei also went close, sliding in at the back post to connect with a Che Adams cross, but failed to convert.

Torino finally broke the deadlock when Marcus Pedersen’s misdirected volley inadvertently set up Adams, who calmly slotted home from point-blank range.

In the closing stages, Vlasic had a chance to seal the win with a free-header from a Valentin Lazaro cross but could not keep it down, leaving Torino to hold on for a hard-fought victory.
