Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie to miss royal Easter service in UK

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will not be present at the Royal Family’s traditional Easter Sunday church service at Windsor Castle this year.

The daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson have reportedly made “alternative plans” for Easter.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to attend the Easter Matins service, alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, who missed the event in 2025.

The Easter service at St George’s Chapel is an annual fixture in the royal calendar, during which family members are photographed as they arrive.

Although they will not be attending this Easter, the princesses are still welcome to participate in future royal events and “family celebrations,” including the Christmas gathering at Sandringham.

Their absence is said to be with the agreement of the King, according to sources.

Last Easter, Mountbatten-Windsor, Ferguson, and their daughters all attended the Windsor service, which is considered a family occasion rather than an official engagement.

Since then, Mountbatten-Windsor has faced arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office and relocated to Sandringham, Norfolk. He no longer resides with his ex-wife, who has also left their former home at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The family has been entangled in the Epstein scandal, raising ongoing questions about links to the US sex offender.

Last week, US Congressman Suhas Subramanyam asked Ferguson to testify regarding her connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing in relation to his ties with Epstein.

Earlier this month, Princess Eugenie stepped down as patron of the charity Anti-Slavery International, a position she held for seven years.
