Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday moved to take over the Maitama residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in Abuja.
The operatives, reportedly led by Folarin Dare, arrived at the location in about five buses, heavily armed and dressed in the commission’s red and black jackets.
They barricaded the road leading to the property, effectively restricting movement within the area.
Attempts to gain access to the residence, located at No. 2 Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street in Maitama, were unsuccessful as the operatives sealed off the premises.
The action is believed to be linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged financial improprieties.
